1 Yug Chokdi has a time frame of 4 yug cycle that is Satyug, Tretayug, Dwaparyug and the last Kaliyug. When 2000 Yug chokdi cycle happen then its just 1 day and 1 night at Bhrama

In The start on Satyug Bhrama creates the world and In Kaliyug End Mahadev destroys the world

Satyug – 1728000 Years

Tretayug – 1296000 Years

Dwaparyug – 864000 Years

Kaliyug – 432000 Years

Ramayan Mahatmya 17- 20

Parvatiji asked to Lord Shiva why did Lord take avatar as Lord Rama ? Lord Shiva replied that there many reasons.

One reason is that once Narada cursed Lord Vishnu . Parvati was stunned and asked the story in detail. Shiva said in Himalaya there is a beautiful cave where ganga flows , there is a rishi hermitage there , Narad reached there and forgot he was cursed by Daksh Prajapati that he could stay at one place for a long time. and started doing penance there , Indra got afraid that narad has started Penance for my place , So Indra went to kamdev and but kamdev could not do anything , Hence narad became arrogant and went to lord shiva and told i have won Kamdev and From there went to Lord Vishnu and said the same. Lord said you are great . After narad went Lord created an illusion (Maya). And created a beautiful city where a king saw naradji and asked to predict who will marry his daughter , Naradji took her daughter hand and became stunned with her beauty and said that your daughter is very lucky and left.

Narad went to Vaikunth direct and asked lord his beauty and lord said ok , Narad reached for the swayamvar for the King’s daughter and at his entrance people started laughing and Shivas Gan were there and told him to check your face in the mirror and it turned out to be A monkey face. Lord was there too in the swayamvar and the lady married Lord.

Narad met lord Vishnu there and he became angry and cursed that you will have to take a human form and the way you made my face like a monkey you too will have to take help of monkey to find your wife and you will suffer the way i am suffering . Soon he cursed Lord returned his Maya , Narad realized  his mistake asked for forgiveness. and told you asked me Hari Beauty  and hari is a monkey in Sanskrut , Lord told narad all this happened cause of me and not to worry.

2nd Reason  Lord Shiva is telling Parvati . Rishi Pulatsya son was Rishi Visharva to whom were born Ravan , Kumbkarana and Vibhishan and others and once they did hard penance and please Lord Bhrama. Bhrama asked Ravan for a boon and said i shall not be killed by anybody except man and Monkeys. Kumbkarana wanted Indrasan but Saraswati sat on his tongue and said Nindrasan. Vibhishan asked for Lords love.

Ravan married Maydanav daughter Mandodri , Bhrama had created a Golden city in Island On top of Trikut Mountain and was called Lanka. And it was ruled by his brother Kuber from another mother called Illavida daughter of Rishi Bharadwaj , Ravan stole from him the city and became the king cause of his boon he started terrorizing the world . Once he lifted Kailash mountain in fun , Everybody became afraid of Ravan . He had 10 heads and 20 heads. he had Nectar stored in his Navel which made him immortal and started destroying the whole world . And so Lord had to take Rama Avatar

 

Ramayan Mahatmya 14 – 16

1st Story – Jay and Vijay

In Lord dham Vaikunth there were parshads named Jay and Vijay (Gatekeepers) , Once the 4 Sanatkumars(Saunak, Sanandan, Sanatan and Sanatkumar) who are the sons of Bhrama went for lord Darshan in Vaikunth. They crossed 6 doors of Vaikunth Dham and reached the Seventh and Jay and Vijay stop them and say without the permission of Lord you will not be allowed they become arrogant and started showing there power, SantatKumar Became angry and cursed them that you will become demons 3 times , and said you are addicted to worldly desires and you have no right to stay in Lord Dham.

Inside Lord resting heard noise , lord came out with Lakshmiji but they are not looking at sanatkumar because they broke there dharma , they asked for forgiveness to lord and understood they still lack those powers and went to do more penance(Tap) and just went from outside Vaikunth. Here Lord Promised Jay Vijay that myself i will come and kill you and give you salvation from Sanatkumar curse.

The 1st avatar they took was Hiranykash and Hiranyakashipu , 2nd they became Ravan and Kumbhkaran, and 3rd they became Shishupal and Dantvakra.

Lord took Varah Avatar to Kill Hiranyakahs and Narshimha Avatar to Kill Hiranyakashipu , Lord Took Rama Avatar to kill Ravan and Kumbkarana , and Krishna Avatar to Kill Shishupal and Dantvakra.

2nd Story – The Old Birth Story of Dashrath Raja

Swayambhu manu and his wife Shatrupa gave there kingdom to there sons and retired to the forest where they did penance of Lord , God Pleased asked them for a boon so , Swayambhu Manu asked for a son just like him , Lord Said i am only one like me so i will take myself Birth at your Place and second ask Shatrupa for a boon and she replied a son like you and your bhakti. Lord Said Thatastu

Swayambhu Manu was born as Dashrath and Shatrupa as Kaushalya

Ramayan Mahatmya 10-13

Tulsidasji has said that the 7 Kand of Ramayan are 7 steps of stair to Lord Rama Feet.

1. Balkand – Contains the leela of birth of Lord Rama and his childhood leela and his marriage and killing of demons with Rishi Vishwamitra
2. AyodhyaKand – Life after marriage for Lord Rama , His exile to the forest , Bharat going after lord Rama to plead to return and his exile too.
3. Aranyakand – His full coverage of his exile after leaving ayodhya , killing demons , Protecting Rishis, and Kidnapping of Mother Sita. And Meeting Shabri
4. Kishkindkand – Friendship between lord Rama and Sugreev , Meeting his bhakta Hanuman, Killing of Bali (Sugreev Brother)
5. Sundar Kand- The story of Hanuman Birth, Sitaji meeting Hanuman, Killing of Surasa, Burning of Lanka, Giving Rama the news of Sitaji
6. LankaKand – Building a stone bridge and Killing of Ravana brothers , Childrens, Cousins and other demons and Killing Ravana himself,
7. Uttrakand- Return of Lord Rama to ayodhya , Rama crowned King, The conversation between Kag Bhusandi and garuda. Sitaji into exile, Luv kush Born and Lord Rama returing to his abode.

This is the short description of The 7 Kand of Ramayan which we will look them deeply and detailed in the coming days.

 

 

Ramayan Mahatmya 07- 09

Hanumanji started doing the job of serving lord Rama and his name became immortal in this earth. Lord Said i protect my bhaktas every time , In Bhagawat Purana , Pruthuraja pleased god and was given a boon , he said God give me 10 thousand ears so that i can hear your katha , He had two ears but was not satisfied listening katha with it so asked for 10 thousand  unlike ravan who had 20 ears but could not listen the name of Rama.

Once Naradji came to the Ashram of Rishi valmiki , Valmiki asked narad is there a person on earth that is thruthful ?, a person who obeys all rules according to shastras?, Even in hard times does not disobey rules?, A person with good conduct and character and always wanting to wish good of other?, A person who understand his subjects well?, A person who has control over his lust and anger?, a person who even the Devas and Asuras are afraid to fight?, Narad replied that the name you were reciting is the only one in the world with all those qualities .and then narad told rama charitra to him.

And Narad after reciting returned. Valmiki in the afternoon went to Tamsa River for Prayers , and he saw a Kronch Birds (Demoiselle Crane) mating with each other and upon seeing one bird was shot by an arrow by a hunter and died , upon seeing his partner die the other bird died too , and Valmiki was hurt and cursed him the way you killed the birds you too will not stay on earth for long and will dies the same death.

“Ma Nishad , prathista twagam swasthi sama: Yatkrounchmithunadekmavdhi: kam mohitam” And those were the First words of Anustup Chand of Ramayan. But he regretted what he spoke was so wrong that it will destroy his punya . he bathed and finished his afternoon rituals and returned to his ashram and was thinking what he spoke how to change them into good deeds, and soon Lord Bhrama appeared and told about what he was feeling Bhrama said that this shlok are very pure  and told the ram charitra you heard from Narad write it into a scripture , and gave a boon till there will be rivers and mountain on this earth your made Ram katha will be used to preache in the world. Lord Brahma disappeared and Valmiki went into Meditation and saw the whole of ram leela and started writing it. Ramayan written by Valmiki has 24000 Shlok, 500 Sarg, and 7 Kand,

Very Important Note : Ramayan was written before the birth of Lord Rama.

The death of 2 Krounch Birds resulted into the creation of Ramayan and is still curing alot of people .

BalKand – is Lord Rama Feet, Ayodhyakand – is Shree Ram Thighs, Aranyakand is lord rama navel, Kishkindhakand is Lord Rama Heart, Sundarkand is Lord Rama Throat, LankaKand is Lord Rama Face and Uttrakand is Lord Rama head.

Ramayan Mahatmya 05 & 06

Lord’s Bhakti is the best boon a human being can get

In Bhagwat Puran Ved Vyas has written that Gopis were very lucky that they got lord bhakti.

In Ramayan , Hanuman was very lucky that he got place with Lord rama and could do his Bhakti all the time and stay with him, When Rama Avatar came to end he took almost all the residents of Ayodhya but Not Hanumanji and said that you will stay here on Earth and listen to Ram Katha everywhere. He also replied that what will i do in Vaikunth where i cant listen to Ram Katha and Lord Rama gave him the boon that you will stay on Earth till Rama Katha Lasts. And it is said where Ram Katha Is read he always reaches there and a special place for him to seat is usually made.

Hanumanji is the ultimate god for problems, Even if Shani is making problems in life for you he will remove that issues, cause he has control over Shaani. That is the reason Saturday is Hanumanji Days and we pour Oil and Place Akda Flowers on Him.

Ramayan Mahatmya 03 & 04

Narshi Mehta has sung that ” Hari Jan to Mukti Na Mage , Mage JanmoJanam Avatar Re….”

The above statement follower is Nishkam Bhakta, who even never asks for salvation but asks for seva of lord everytime. When Lord Rama was being crowned the king of Ayodhya everybody was being given gifts but Hanuman was not given so Lady Sita asked why so? Rama replied that what can i give him, the help he has given me i can never pay that debt. I will always remain in his debt and want to remain that is the love and power of true bhakt.

Sudama and Lord krishna were childhood friends, Sudama was poor , Had problems running his home , his children and his wife were dying of hunger. Sudama’s wife sent him to his friend Lord krishna for help but upon reaching he could not ask for it. He thought if i asked my lord will feel bad. Whatever is written in my fate i will suffer for it and just had one wish that lord could eat his baked rice which his wife had packed for him to give Lord Krishna. But Lord knew his problems and ate his rice and got rid away of his problems. That is the true nature of Lord Bhakt

Such was Rishi Valmiki. The time he realized that this world is no one true relative and his worldly attachments is delusive he caught Lord Rama name and changed his life. His Mind , his Heart and his Body gave to Lord Rama. Valmiki has shown the world the power of Lord Rama name.

When the monkey army wanted to cross the ocean to Lanka , The Monkey engineer Naal and Neel wrote the name of Lord Rama in each stone and the stone started to float , when lord rama heard about it he become shocked and went and wrote his own name on the stone and threw it but the stone did not float and threw many stone but all sank , But clever hanuman knew what was wrong and said to lord rama that you did not write your name with love , but the monkey wrote it with love and passion that your name has the power, so if lord rama name is taken with importance the person will sure attain salvation

Ramayan Mahatmya – 01 & 2

Like Bhagwata Purana , Ramayana too is great. The author of Ramayana Rishi Valmiki was not just an ordinary person but a great poet and great astrologer. He wrote Ramayana before the birth of Lord Rama.

In Vishnusahastranam Lord Vishnu has been given a name as “Kavi”. Vishnu is the preserver of the world . He is the one who created the Universe. So the world is a Kavita of Lord Vishnu. The same way the gift of creating Kavita was given to , Rishi Valmiki, Rishi Vev Vyas and Tulsidas that is the reason the story of Ramayana and Bhagwat Purana is divine and the one who recite it gain Moksh.

The creation of Ramayana was done at the bank of Tamsa River where the Ashram of Valmiki was. It has chand Like Anushtup which was the first shlok that came out of Valmiki throat. Valmiki was an Adikavi meaning first Kavi and Ramayan As Adi Shastra as the first Literature in Hindu.

Valmiki story is a mahima of Lord Ram name. Lord Ram name is a miracle. Valmiki told lord ram himself that he could not even utter his name properly instead of Rama Rama he was uttering Mara Mara. still cause of his name he attained salvation.

Valmiki was born as a Bhramin and his real name was Ratnakar. Cause of bad company he forgot his bhramin dharma and started killing , stealing and used to feed his family with it. Once he caught Rishi Narad and told him to give everything he had , Rishi Narad had nothing and asked that why are you doing this?

He replied that to feed my family , what will they eat , if i don’t feed them and die i will be a sinner . Narad asked go ask you family that will they take part in the sin you are doing will they share the sins you have done and he tied narad to a tree so that he doesn’t run away. And he ran to his family and asked will you share the sins i have done to feed you , He asked his wife , his parents and his kids and they replied that the one who commits the sin will pay for the deeds they have done why should we . We have not told you to commit bad deeds and feed us.

He was shocked and his eyes and mind opened, and his all Brahman sanskar returned and returned to narad and opened him from the tree and and told what his family said and decided to repent his sins , So made Narad his guru and asked what to do and narad said recite the Mantra Aum namo bhagwate Vasudevay Namaha . He said this mantra is too hard so he gave a simpler one RAMA RAMA .and he sate and Started Reciting MARA MARA and eventually it becomes RAMA RAMA , days passed months and Years passed and his whole body was covered with ant hills  and in Sanskrut ant hills is called Valmik so he was given the name Rishi Valmiki.

That is the power of the name of Lord Rama .
